For some individuals the stun baton is undesirable because of their size which makes them unable to fit in a pocket or purse unless it is the 500,000 volt mini baton.

How important is the number of volts?
Whether or not a stun gun is effective doesn't necessarily depend on the voltage that a stun gun delivers. While a higher voltage can make a stun gun more effective, the delivery and amperage of the charge is more important. Therefore, a stun gun with a better method of delivery and a lower voltage can actually be more effective than the stun gun with a high voltage.
How Many Times Can It Be Used?
If you have a new set of batteries you can reuse the stun gun many times. This is why the stun gun is such an excellent choice to help defend individuals when there are multiple attackers.
How Safe Are Stun Guns to Carry and Use?
Stun guns have been determined to be completely safe by the medical and scientific community since they don't cause any permanent damage to their attackers. Stun guns don't even affect the voluntary muscles such as those found in the hearts and lungs. Even if someone has a pace maker they cannot suffer permanent damage from a stun gun.
What About Safety Features that Prevent Accidental Activation?
There is usually a separate safety switch on most models which is different from the on/off switch. Unless the safety is activated and the on/off switch is in the on position the unit cannot produce a shock.

Federal statutes do not restrict the carrying of stun devices unless it is on air carrier travel, public forums, sporting events, court houses or other restricted government buildings. It is best to place your Stun Gun in checked luggage only when traveling.

What Type of Power Does the Stun Gun Require?
9-volt alkaline batteries are required on all the stun devices that we carry. A stun gun will not work with all brands of 9-volt batteries due to the amount of power required by a stun gun. This is why it is recommended that you only use fully charged Energizer alkaline batteries.
How Should I Carry My Stun Gun?
Many stun gun models are easily fit into a pocket or purse. They also come with a belt clip attachment so you can easily wear it on your waist when you are jogging or walking. You can also purchase stun gun holsters. For convenient carrying the holsters also have belt attachments allowing them to be easily concealed under suits or jackets.
What's The Difference Between 100,000 and 500,000 Volts?
A 100,000 volt stun gun can cause pain, muscle contractions, disorientation and loss of balance depending on how long direct contact is made. These accomplish the goal of repelling an attacker and escaping. However, a 100,000 volt stun gun may not completely take down an attacker and leave them immobilized. There is more effective take down power with stun guns over 300,000 volts. Without causing permanent harm you can immobilize an attacker for five to fifteen minutes with three to five seconds of direct contact.
